La trama.
La trama del gioco è apparentemente semplice, Jeremiah Devitt, il protagonista, deve investigare sul suicidio dell’amico Anthony Beechworth avvenuto all’interno della sua villa.
Porta verso le tenebre.
Inizialmente il gioco si presenta come una semplice indagine. L”amico del protagonista, Anthony, invia una misteriosa lettera che porta il protagonista a recarsi presso la sua villa. Devitt verrà subito messo di fronte a enigmatici indizi lasciati dall’amico.
La mia esperienza.
Sicuramente la cosa che all’inizio colpisce è la profonda Pixel-Art che caratterizza il gioco e di cui non bisogna spaventarsi. inizialmente infatti questo tipo di grafica potrebbe risultare confusionario ma avanzando con la storia cambierete idea. Sapientemente elaborati, i fondali del gioco, danno una profondità e una godibilità estrema ad entrambi i capitoli. La musica inoltre aiuta fortemente l’immersione nella storia (consiglio vivamente di giocare con le cuffie per aumentare l’immersione) e non porta soltanto il protagonista in una situazione di estrema inquietudine ma anche il giocatore accompagna Devitt nella spirale oscura che lo porta a incontrare i fantasmi del passato.
Risolvere il mistero.
Certamente il motore del gioco sono il mistero e gli enigmi, questi ultimi mai banali o scontati. La parte investigativa e misteriosa invece porta il giocatore a non voler mai smettere di giocare per riuscire a capire quali siano le ragioni che muovono il mondo di “The Last Door”. Cosa si cela dietro la morte di Anthony Beechworth? In che modo Devitt è coinvolto in questa faccenda? Non vi resta che scoprirlo.
I due capitoli (Capitolo 1; Capitolo 2) di “The Last Door” sono disponibili su Steam (entrambi a 9,99€ oppure come bundle a 17,98€). Su Android e iOS è disponibile il primo capitolo (gratuito il primo scenario, 4,99€ per sbloccare l’avventura completa).
